Manaslu Region

Manaslu Region

Manaslu is derived from the Sanskrit word Manasa, meaning the spirit of the mountains, is the world’s eighth highest mountain, first climbed by the Japanese Expedition Team in the year 1956. The trail through the Manaslu Circuit is somewhat similar to Annapurna Tour with lesser frequentation of various places through the trek. Manaslu connects the Tibetan Plateau lying in the midst of the outskirts of the Gorkha and Manang districts. Throughout this 15 days trek, you will experience a wonderful settlement of the Tibetan people and their traditions. The Manaslu circuit trek not just offers you the best of trekking experience but also adds the charm of encountering untamed wildlife around the area preserved due to the restrictions on hunting.

The Manaslu district has no streets or alike and the trekking trails are in excellent condition combining the altitude varying significantly from 700m to 5,135m which is why the Manaslu trek today is favored over the Annapurna trek.
