Pikey Peak Trekking is a newly opened trekking route in the Solukhumbu region slowly gaining on reputation due to the impressive trail, chances of witnessing majestic snow-capped mountains, diverse biodiversity, and the unique Sherpa culture. This comparatively short trek in the northern trail gives you a unique taste of the Himalayan greatness and the opportunity to delve into the solitude of the spiritual mountain landscapes.
If you desire to see Mt. Everest (8848m) and the eastern giants like Kanchenjunga (8586m), Makalu (8463m), Manaslu (8163m), and Annapurna range together, Pikey Peak will be a perfect viewpoint and the trip takes you to the heart of the Sherpa country, Solukhumbu filled with beautiful villages between rhododendron forest and terraced fields. To capture the best view of Mt.Everest and the high ranges you will certainly get more from the moderate Pikey Peak (4065m) than from the Kalapatthar (5555m) of classic Everest treks.
Pikey Peak can be done from the different routes: Phaplu to Pikey or Jiri to Pikey. On the way, we pass through the unspoiled wilderness and lush forest. We can enjoy the beautiful Rhododendron forest during the trek. We can observe authentic Sherpa culture and their civilization and will be served organic food items while accommodating in villages. This trek is a newly discovered trekking destination in the lower Everest region which is not crowded like in other routes in the Everest region. On a lower budget, you can be experienced with the eye-catching views of the mountains, the sunrise and sunset, and authentic cultures from Pikey Peak.
Pikey peak trek can be arranged with a drive from Kathmandu to Dhap and taking a short and impressive flight while coming back from Phaplu to Kathmandu.
Highlights of the trek:
Explore some of the most uncharted trekking trails of Nepal and enjoy the tranquility never experienced before.
A mesmerizing view of the sunrise and sunset from the trail.
Splendid views of the Mountain vistas including Everest, Makalu, and some Annapurna ranges.

Local Sherpa Village and Pikey Peak Trek
I went on a trek with Sarki Sherpa. We started at Okhaldhunga and then took a Jeep Ride up to his local Sherpa Village where we stayed one night. We had local Dhal Baat for dinner and potato curry for breakfast. He showed me how the locals farmed and lived off the land, and showed me the local school where 280 students attend everyday. He then took me on a one night trek up Pikey Peak where I had spectacular views of Everest, Loche, Khunde, and Numbur mountains. We stayed the night at a Sherpa Tea House where we talked and laughed with locals. Highly recommend if you are looking for an adventure off the beaten path.

Pike Peak Trek
(Translated by Google) Pemba took us on the beautiful Pikey Peak trek! With him, we went through sumptuous landscapes. We could admire the Everest massif, but also forests, waterfalls, monasteries, villages ... We were able to sleep at the inhabitant: it is not the luxury but it is how that live the Nepalese. We also slept in more comfortable lodges and in the monastery of Chiwan Gompa where we were able to attend ceremonies and dine with the monks. Pemba gives explanations on everything we see in very good French: monuments, wildlife, flora, landscapes and mountains ... He was born here and he is inexhaustible on the way of life of Sherpas and their customs. We are poor walkers. Thanks to Pemba who has adapted the stages to our abilities, we have been able to live this extraordinary adventure! (Original)
