Ganja la Pass trekking is an adventurous trek which takes us to the natural beauty of the Langtang valley, including the splendidness of the pass (i.e. Ganja la pass). The trek entertains us with the artistic vistas of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh HimalDorje Lakpa, Yala Peak, Naya Kanga and Gaurishankar. Ganja La Pass Trekking Offers the culmination of wilderness along with the rich customs and traditions. The warmthness which will be provided by the inhabitants of Langtang Region is no less than the service provided by the star hotels. Although, all most all of the inhabitants of this region are of Tibetan origin, they are now totally Nepalese citizens.As the country is blessed with good grasslands it's very convenient for local yak herds. In each step one takes, nature will startle them with its beauty.

The trail passes through the small village of Langtang, where many of the inhabitants can be seen churning rich yak milk into butter and a destination ahead is KyanjinGompa which also is the last permanent settlement in the Valley. There is a small monastery, a cheese factory and amazingly built lodges. Kyanjin makes a good base for further exploration of the upper Langtang Valley. There is a giant view point from where the overall view of the ridged peaks can be seen, the valley looks eyegasmic. Most of the people take the opportunity to explore the heaven from viewpoint (4,984m) which is almost three hours walk from the base of Kyanjin. Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lhakpa and Phurbi Chyanchucircle the Kyanjin valley and anyone making up to that place breathes the nature for sure.

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we’ll have a trip orientation to learn about your stay in Nepal and answer any questions/concerns about the itinerary. Most importantly after the briefing, we will go through the checklist of all the required gear and items and make sure you are equipped for the journey. If you require more items, there are many local trekking shops to accommodate what you need. After checking each person is fully equipped, we’ll go out on a Katmandu Sightseeing Day Tour, around one of the important cultural hubs of the valley. Katmandu city alone holds four heritage sites that are listed under the UNESCO World Heritage Sites List.

This day, we drive uphill along the northern hills of Kathmandu along with the roaring Trishuli River to Dhunche. Then we descend down to Syabrubesi. We stay at Syabrubesi for the night.

This day, we follow the path of Langtang River and we cross many suspension bridges today on our way. Though there are constant ups and downs along the trail it is an easy trek. We keep on experiencing the impenetrable views of the mountains and local lifestyle.

This day, we pass through the lush green vegetation as we climb towards Langtang. The view of Langtang Lirung visible on the way restarts you and your mind too. We pass across water mills, prayer wheels and Chortens on our way. We stay at the local village for the night.

This day, we continue our journey of Ganja La Pass trek. From Langtang Valley the trail climbs gradually to Sindum and to Yamphu. Crossing Laja River, we reach the viewpoint from where we can observe Kyanjin Gompa and the beautiful icefall from Langtang Lirung. The path is then downhill until we arrive at Kyanjin Gompa.

The climb to the Tsergo Ri is one of the hardest treks you will experience in your life. But, the pain is converted into pleasure and happiness by one of the most beautiful view of the great mountains. We return back to Kyanjin Gompa for the overnight. Note: The Tsergo Ri is found to be above 5000 m above the sea level.

This day, crossing the Langtang River and climbing through forests of rhododendrons, we enjoy the natural beauty and tranquility. The time taken to pass via the Ganja La depends upon the ongoing season.

Altitude: 4300m to 5160m

This day, we follow the trail to cross Ganja La-Pass. This pass is considered to be one of the most breathtaking pass of the whole country. It is covered with snow throughout the year. Ganja La, lying on the rocky moraine offers the splendid views. We come across boulders and small lakes as we ascend to the summit. After reaching the peak, we descend towards Keldang.

We hike from Keldang to Yak Kharka. As we lose altitude, the vegetation around gradually becomes dense and begin to surround us.

We descend further from yak Kharka to Tarke Gyang this day. This day can cover an altitude decrease of more than 1500m.

This day, we enter the Helambu Region as we pass through the small forest. Sermathang is an awesome place to learn about lifestyle of distinctive mountainous culture and lifestyle.

This day, we reach the final destination of our trek. We encounter a beautiful Sherpa village named Melamchi Pool village. We will drive back to Kathmandu enjoying the natural scenery along the highway.

Adventurous activities are always filled with adrenaline and risks. Here are some mandatory tools and equipments to keep you safe and necessary for the trip.

Trekking boot(1pair): well worn and comfortable with proper ankle support.
Sock(3 pairs): good and warm enough; worth spending money on quality socks.
Flip flop/Camp Shoe(1 pair): light weighted for evening use.

Water bottle(2): Nalgene/ sig style and a bladder bottle with the capacity of 1/2 liter water. Bladders are preferred.
Water Purification Drop(1): Affordable and easily available for purchase in Kathmandu (Pious Water Drop).
Lip Balm(1): Proper moisturizing containing SPF.
Sunglass(1): Actual UV rays safeguarding glasses.
Sun Cream: SPF 30+ recommended.
Bandana (1): Useful for various purpose.

Duffle Bag Pack(1): to store excess luggage at hotel. Our agency provides duffel bags during the trek. These are easier for the porters to carry.
Day pack with rain cover(1): to carry your personal items during the treks i.e. camera, private snacks, water bottles, etc.
Sleeping bags with inner: To have a warm and satisfying sleep in high altitude. Recommended for 3 season(Oct-Feb).

You will encounter many tea houses on your trek. A tea house is a lodge operated by the locals of a village to support their family and community. During the evenings and night the teahouses offer you beverages, food, warmth, and a chance to chat with other trekkers and locals. Teahouses are not five star hotels, but basic accommodation including breakfast, lunch, and dinner at a very affordable price. Many teahouses offer hot showers where you have to a small fee (usually around $2). Wifi and battery charge is also offered with a small fee.

As the name suggests, a camping trek is camping, in which you will have to accommodate yourself and your companions along with the staff in tents. The tents will consist of kitchens and bedrooms. All the tedious and cumbersome tasks will be done by our staff. These kinds of treks are said to be really adventurous and fun.

Yes, we are fully authorized by the government to conduct any kinds of activities relating to trekking and traveling. All of our guides are licensed and experienced mountain guides.

Yes, we insist you to take out insurance. You should have yourself insured before your arrival to Nepal and it should cover all expenses. If you need help, please don’t hesitate to ask us. Many of our trekkers have been happy with dog tag insurance. https

It is not compulsory. However, it has been a common trait and the guides and porters will be expecting a small amount of tips from you. A small amount to you can hold a great essence in their life and can go a long way to help them and their families. Feel free to ask us for a suggested standard amount.
